Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Winder (Immediate Hiring)
Job Description
The primary role of a phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate.
+ Update patient information as needed.
+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
+ Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously.
+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
+ Fully understand all physician orders.
+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
+ Ensure accuracy by checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
+ Package specimens for transport.
+ Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in appropriate containers.
+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
+ Attend annual department trainings.
+ Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 2+ years of recent experience as a Phlebotomist, 4+ years is preferred in a clinical environment
+ Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture, including straight needle techniques.
+ Experience with blood draws for both geriatric and pediatric patients.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
The position is located in Winder, GA, with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, including rotating weekends where the candidate will work one weekend per month. The role involves working independently in a doctor's office setting, handling approximately 50+ draws per day. This is a non-smoking site, and candidates are required to adhere to the non-smoking policy

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winder, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
