• Senior Project Engineer

    Actalent (Poway, CA)


    Position Background

    + Role has been open for some time; previous offer extended but still open.

    + Backfill for an employee retiring in January.

    + Additional requisition expected in January.

    + Scope will be divided across 3 people (previously 2).

    Role Overview

    + Primary Focus: Project Management with strong technical manufacturing knowledge.

    + Responsibilities:

    + Oversee scope, earned value, metric tracking, and deliverables.

    + Ensure delivery dates and cost control.

    + Act as CAM (programmatic) and Manufacturing Engineer (technical).

    + Program Focus:

    + EVMS experience and willingness to learn.

    + Manage smaller chunks of a $1B program (20 control accounts, $2M–$200M each).

    + Plan production efforts, monitor progress and program health.

    + Hardware Background :

    + Power electronics, electrical assemblies, PCBA.

    + Understanding of shop floor operations and production control preferred.

    Top Skills / Technical Must-Haves

    + General knowledge of manufacturing processes.

    + Earned Value Management (EVMS); Cobra experience preferred.

    + Tools: MRP (SAP), Excel, MS Project.

    + Data Analysis: Variance analysis, labor/material status reports, SAP queries.

    + Leadership: Project management and team coordination.

    Qualifications

    + Experience: 7–10 years (or 5–6 years with Master’s).

    + Industry: Aerospace & Defense preferred; Automotive acceptable.

    + Certifications: None required; EVMS familiarity helpful.

    + Disqualifier: Structural experience.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Poway, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
