    Job Title: CNC Lathe Setup/Programmer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup/Programmer to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced aerospace/commercial machine shop. This role involves operating CNC and manual lathes, ensuring production parts meet specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate CNC and manual lathes to run production parts.

    + Walk between machines, load/unload parts, and ensure jobs meet specifications.

    + Monitor and adjust machine settings based on part requirements.

    + Use measuring tools to check tolerances and ensure quality.

    + Run programs and tools efficiently and in a timely manner.

    + Maintain detailed attention to part quality and job timing.

    + Demonstrate creativity and problem-solving in daily tasks.

    + Set-up lathing machines and maintain CNC machines.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CNC lathe and manual machining.

    + Skilled in programming CNC, CMM, and lathe.

    + Ability to edit G and M codes.

    + Proficiency in English (reading and verbal communication).

    + Experience with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.

    + Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in manual milling and lathing.

    + Basic CNC lathe and milling experience preferred.

    + Ability to work independently and manage job flow.

    + Not suitable for recent graduates unless top of class.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is organized but can be loud and dirty. Employees are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment, including disposable coveralls, protective eyewear, gloves, and masks. The dress code includes jeans (no holes), a t-shirt, and steel-toed boots.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petaluma, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
