    Job Title: Iron Worker

    Job Description

    As an Iron Worker, you will play a crucial role in building industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses. You will work with structural steel and iron to frame and erect various structures. Your expertise in fitting and assembling structural frameworks using hand tools and welding equipment, while following blueprint specifications, will be vital. You will be expected to work comfortably around cranes, utilizing chokers, crane signals, and rigging. Tack welding parts and welding structural steel onsite will be part of your daily tasks. Reading project layouts and blueprints is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Build industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses using structural steel and iron.

    + Frame and erect iron and structural steel structures.

    + Fit and assemble structural frameworks using hand tools and welding equipment.

    + Follow blueprint specifications for construction projects.

    + Work comfortably around cranes, handling chokers, crane signals, and rigging.

    + Perform tack welding and welding of structural steel onsite.

    + Read and interpret project layouts and blueprints.

    Essential Skills

    + Metal framing

    + Carpentry

    + Iron work

    + Metal stud framing

    + Iron/Steel erection

    + Industrial or commercial carpentry

    + Welding (Tack welding structural steel)

    + Blueprint reading

    + OSHA 10 certification

    + Framing

    + Sheet metal work

    + Sheet metal cutting

    + Structural steel handling

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with tools such as Bull Pin, Erection Wrench, Snap Hook, Saws/Cutting Wheels, Hammer, Chalk Line, Triangle, etc.

    + Experience as Iron Workers or Millwrights

    + Ability to read a tape measure

    + Rigging skills

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working on industrial construction sites, primarily on the first shift from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. Expect to work in a dynamic environment where safety and teamwork are prioritized.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, MI.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
