Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector inspects incoming parts and supplies, performs first article, in-process, and final inspections, and inspects setups and fixtures. The role involves maintaining or scheduling maintenance of testing tools, monitoring inspection schedules, and ensuring compliance with inspection requirements. The Quality Inspector is expected to read and analyze blueprints, quality documents, and manuals, and verify measurements and other specifications against plans. A basic knowledge of mechanical systems, critical thinking skills, and proficiency with standard testing tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, optical comparators, and CMM equipment and software are essential. This position is very hands-on with a variety of mechanical inspection tools.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect first articles, in-process parts, and products prior to shipment using gauges, coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, and vision systems.
+ Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
+ Produce first article inspection reports.
+ Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
+ Test incoming raw materials.
+ Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspections of machined parts.
+ Read instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined within specified tolerances.
+ Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ IPC 610 and IPC 620 certifications.
+ Wire harness inspection experience.
+ Experience in high-rate manufacturing, quantitative inspection, and data input.
+ AS 9100 knowledge.
+ Open plate inspection experience.

Work Environment
The position is onsite at a new facility with work hours from Monday to Friday, starting at 6:55 AM for a team meeting. The facility provides a supportive environment with all necessary tools and equipment for quality inspections.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
