Job Title: Material Control Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Control Operator to accurately manage inventory information for material stock. You will monitor, organize, and maintain inventory of company products at multiple branch locations, working alongside a diverse team.
Responsibilities
+ Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.
+ Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.
+ Enter data for inventory into a computer and record data manually using a clipboard.
+ Load and unload metal materials (raw materials) both manually and with a forklift.
+ Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.
+ Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
+ Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material.
+ Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.
+ Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
+ Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.
+ Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff.
+ Perform verification of scrap.
+ Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
+ Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
+ Perform equipment preventative maintenance and cleanup.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand fluent English and perform basic math problems.
+ Basic computer skills for data entry into the inventory management system.
+ Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement.
+ Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry.
+ Certification to operate material handling equipment, including forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Preferred: 3 years of material control or inventory experience.
+ Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.).
+ Strong attendance and work history with regards to tenure.
+ Attributes include attention to detail, ability to work on your feet, read a tape measure, and manage paperwork and chain of custody.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. You will work in a fast-paced environment with over 60 employees on the floor. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday from 4am-2:30pm. The facility is located in Auburn, WA with a supportive and engaging workplace culture.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $21.70/hr.
