Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a manual lathe, metal bandsaw, and ring grinder to produce precision parts and components. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Operated manual lathes to machine metal parts to exact specifications

+ Utilized metal bandsaws to cut raw materials accurately and efficiently

+ Performed grinding operations with ring grinders to achieve smooth finishes and precise dimensions

+ Read and interpreted technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete machining tasks

+ Inspected finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with tolerances

+ Maintained equipment through routine cleaning, adjustments, and minor repairs

+ Followed all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment

+ Collaborated with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and project deadlines

+ Documented work performed and reported any equipment or material issues promptly

Qualifications:

+ Experience operating manual lathe, metal bandsaw, and ring grinder

+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Work Environment

This position is on the 1st shift, operating from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient and controlled temperatures, airborne graphite dust, and moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. The role involves standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally. Effective communication in English and proficiency with a personal computer are necessary. The facility boasts a new building with state-of-the-art air filters.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
