Position Description
This position is involved in the financial reporting function for the Natural Gas Operations Management and Field Operations organizations.
Support includes, but is not limited to:
+ Updating monthly Financial Reports and Variance Explanations for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Sustaining Capital (Capex)
+ Involved with Application System Development, Enhancements, Testing and Implementation (including Customer Support / Training)
+ Developing ad-hoc reports and variance explanations as needed
+ Process / Procedure Improvement, including Automation (where possible)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate and assist operations team with monthly accounting close, forecasting and financial reporting
+ Consolidate accurate timely financial reports, comparisons and variance analysis for the following:
+ Monthly / Annual Forecasts
+ Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
+ Long Range Outlook (LROs)
+ Annual Budgets
+ Joint Venture Reporting
+ Partnership Board Meetings
+ Ad-Hoc reporting
+ Work individually or as part of a team to assess business processes; structure processes, work flows and reporting with adherence to timeline, accuracy and requirements.
+ Prepare various reports deriving information from multiple data sources / applications – both internal and external to this organization
+ Provide analytical assistance and back-up for other team members on an as-needed basis
+ Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of job performance
+ Job level will commensurate with experience and knowledge
Position Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field is required.
+ Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience is required. Level of position will be based on education and experience
+ Understand and help ensure compliance with requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls.
+ Outstanding analytical skills and a strong attention to detail for producing an accurate work product.
+ Highly competent with Microsoft Excel.
+ Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders including managing multiple deliverables with competing deadlines.
+ Independent worker with good organization skills.
+ Exceptional communication skills including demonstrated ability to create and maintain productive relationships with teammates and other internal customers.
+ Good understanding and experience of reporting cycle and budgeting process
+ Untraditional work schedule may be required to meet critical deadlines and handle special project assignments.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of management
+ Experience and knowledge of Natural Gas Pipelines is a plus
+ Ability to learn Kinder Morgan financial applications, such as Lawson, KM Budget and Forecast, KM Budget System, URE, etc.
Job level will be commensurate with experience and skill-set.
