Jacobs is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer - Bridges to join our Transportation team in Irvine, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for both private and public sector clients; such as design, analysis, and maintenance of various structural systems including bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on structural design and analysis of bridges.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Perform evaluations of structures with varying degrees of complexity
• Prepare plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates under the supervision of experienced engineers
• Create structural models using design software
• Support submittals, conduct site visits, and assist with technical design
• Collaborate with senior engineers and team members on project tasks
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Knowledge of bridge design practices through work experience, internships or college
• Coursework experience in delivering projects and knowledge of LRFD design code
Ideally, You will have:
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or related degree
• Previous bridge design internship or related work experience
• 3.0 GPA
• Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
