    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Harrisburg, PA)


    Description

    We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting functions for our client based in Harrisburg, PA. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing day-to-day accounting operations, overseeing compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and partnering with leadership on financial planning and decision-making. The Controller will supervise the accounting team and play a key role in optimizing financial processes and systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Oversee monthly financial close, prepare financial statements, and reconcile general ledger accounts.

    + Supervise and mentor accounting staff.

    + Provide financial reporting and variance analysis.

    + Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other business filings.

    + Drive process improvements and automation for efficiency.

    + Develop and implement sound accounting policies and procedures.

    + Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities.

    + Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and external partners.

    + Stay current on financial regulations and industry developments.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

    • 10+ years of progressive accounting management experience within retail, distribution or manufacturing industries preferred

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

    • Expertise in inventory accounting, cash management, and forecasting.

    • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and manage month-end close procedures.
