Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to oversee financial operations and planning for a dynamic organization in Holland, Michigan. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing a wide range of financial activities, including reporting, compliance, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for corporate and board-level review, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, payroll, and year-end tax reporting with meticulous attention to detail.
• Coordinate annual audits and collaborate with accountants to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Oversee property management financial functions, including government and insurance billing processes.
• Develop detailed financial statements and ensure they meet internal and external reporting standards.
• Create and monitor budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and departmental leaders.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial integrity.
• Provide financial analysis and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Supervise the preparation of grant applications and financial assistance proposals.
• Attend and present financial updates at Board of Directors and Finance Committee meetings. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or a related leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee month-end close processes and prepare detailed financial reports.
• Expertise in annual budget preparation and cash flow forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of financial policies, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining accounting systems aligned with industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify trends and support long-term financial planning.
• Effective communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage and develop staff within a finance department.
