Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in a contract capacity in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This is a contract position suited for someone with strong attention to detail, financial management skills, and a proven ability to oversee financial operations effectively. The ideal candidate will bring over five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, along with expertise in auditing and compliance processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial records.

• Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Conduct and support financial statement audits to maintain compliance with regulations.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to assist in decision-making processes.

• Ensure compliance with DCAA standards and other regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and reporting systems.

• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities to align with organizational goals.

• Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff in financial operations.

Requirements • Minimum of five years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities.

• Strong understanding of financial statement audits and regulatory compliance.

• Knowledge of DCAA standards and financial reporting requirements.

• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
