The PCA promotes a patient and family experience oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The PCA measures and records vital signs, intake and output, assists patients with activities of daily living, and provides safe transportation and environment for patients. The PCA is cross trained to support the clinical and clerical sides of the business.

    Department Specific Job Details:

    This position has scheduled hours in both the clinical function and clerical function of the clinic. PCA II position performs routine clinical skills for patient care, which includes taking vital signs, weight, height, per policy or as directed by physician or nurse. Also performs patient scheduling. The PCA II is responsible for patient flow, stocking of rooms, ordering of tests and supplies. This position is responsible for service delegated by the RN or physician. Interacts with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow to provide appropriate care and quality customer service. The PCA II is a member of the collaborative practice team and renders care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. It is essential that all nursing tasks performed by trained unlicensed assistive personnel be done under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The delegating licensed nurse retains accountability for the delegation and the outcome of the task (Ohio Revised Code -- ORC, Section 4723.28) REQUIREMENTS: High school/GED, CPR, Typing: >30 words per minute, Language: medical and non-medical. PREFERRED: Specializing in Medical Asst. or Nursing Student, 1-2yrs. specializing in Ped. Physician's office/clerical and computer skills, Specializing as Medical Asst. or Nursing Student
