    The Operations Support Manager is responsible for leading a team that supports ATS Logistics Operations and Sales to provide an exceptional experience for ATS customers and carriers. This position oversees the FreightMatch Teams, Extended Coverage Teams, and other operations carrier support tasks, such as tracking and any additional duties required to support ATS Logistics business. The manager ensures that service expectations are met or exceeded, leverages customer and carrier feedback to improve user experience, and drives efficiency through people leadership, process enhancement, and technology adoption. The role partners cross-functionally with internal departments to promote and continuously improve the Freight Match platform and related support services.

    Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation and logistics industry.

    2. Firm understanding of the commercial transportation industry with strong working knowledge of operations, logistics, and transportation.

    3. Moderate level of technical knowledge and be familiarity with mobile apps, tracking systems and digital platforms.

    4. Attention to detail and the ability to think analytically.

    5. One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.

    6. Basic knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

    7. Strong interpersonal skills: able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff and relate effectively across diverse cultures.

    8. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.

    9. Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers.

    10. Strong planning and problem-solving skills; able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and develop alternative solutions.

    11. Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

    12. Must demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.

    13. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

    14. Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).

    15. Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Oversee FreightMatch(FM) Representatives, Extended Coverage, and other carrier support roles (e.g. EC and Trackers) and manages day-to-day operations.

    2. Reporting on the performance of FM and the team, measuring against goals.

    3. Make suggestions for FM improvements and work with the Product Owner and Development Team on development.

    4. Advocates for FM internally promoting it to internal customers.

    5. Partners with Marketing to promote FM to outside carriers.

    6. Plans, directs, and controls Extended Coverage Team functions for our logistics operations teams.

    7. Proactively resolve and minimize operational or personnel issues; manage counseling, communication, and training as needed.

    8. Recommend and implement processes to improve productivity and efficiency of the team.

    9. Provide assistance or coverage for operational teams during manager absences.

    10. Develop effective working relationships, internal and external, built on trust and respect.

    11. Address and effectively resolve safety concerns, productivity, service failures and communication issues when they occur.

    12. Function consistently, effectively and reliably in accordance with the Company's values as set forth in our core competencies and behaviors to foster ATS's culture (All Employee Competencies).

    Compensation & Benefits

     

    + Base salary of this position is $50,000 - $70,000 with additional opportunity to earn incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
