    Job Description

    Position Overview

    The Senior Procurement Engineer, Renewable Procurement (Energy Storage) will lead RFPs and negotiate supply agreements for BESS equipment. The Senior Engineer will also support vendor and product evaluations, while staying up to date with industry trends on technology and pricing. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Renewable Procurement.

     

    This position will work from Invenergy's office in downtown Chicago, IL.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead negotiation of technical exhibits in supply agreements (including scope of supply, technical specifications, performance guarantees, etc.). Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations and Origination teams to ensure system design, product specifications, warranties and performance guarantees are in line with prudent industry practices as well as all applicable project agreements.

    + Prepare Request for Proposal packages in coordination with Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams. Manage and evaluate vendor bid responses, analyze procurement options to assist in making equipment supply recommendations.

    + Coordinate closely with Origination and Pre-Construction teams in early to mid-stage development to stay up to date with project timelines, project sizing and equipment requirements. Identify and surface procurement risks as necessary.

    + Support development of Invenergy’s technical specifications in collaboration with the Engineering team. Drive improvements and regular updates, ensuring requirements are in line with market expectations and industry-specific standards and codes.

    + Review technical requirements in applicable project agreements for alignment with market conditions and prudent industry practices.

    + Support technical due diligence of energy storage products, and coordinate with suppliers on product roadmap, to understand its impacts on Invenergy’s energy storage pipeline and procurement strategy.

    + Support internal continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams to improve future sourcing strategy.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

    + 5+ years of work experience, with 3+ years preferably in Project Construction, Engineering, Procurement, or Sourcing. A desire and aptitude to understand the Construction and Energy/Utilities industry is a minimum requirement.

    + Ability to interpret technical documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings.

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects concurrently.

    + Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and communications skills.

    + Occasional travel to project sites and manufacturing facilities will be required.

    + Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Knowledge of BESS equipment (batteries, inverters, and other electrical generation equipment) and understanding of energy markets is preferred.

    + Experience with contract administration or contract management is a plus.

     

    Base Pay

     

    105,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual

     

    Bonus: 20% - 30%

     

    The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills. In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance.
