+ Skills in dataset/storage/disk/tape management including allocation, backup, restore, and management of storage constructs.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment and independently as needed.
+ Deep knowledge of zOS and JES System Programming.
+ RACF Administration Experience (User IDs, RACF User Groups, Resources, KeyRings, etc.).
+ IBM Software Installations (ServerPacs using zOSMF, CBPDO, any related IBM Software product installs and customization).
+ Preferred Skills: VTAM, TCP/IP, OSA, z/VM systems programming, Linux on z Systems, zCX (Container Extensions), DS8000, FlashCopy, tape libraries, DFSMS ACS routine and construct management.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced zOS systems programmer to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to immediately contribute to zOS Mainframe related tasks and projects, utilizing, increasing, and sharing their technical knowledge and skills in mainframe operating systems. This role is specifically for an experienced systems programmer, not an application developer/programmer.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and upgrade the zOS Operating System.
+ Support users and other team members by leveraging expertise in mainframe operating systems and resolving operating system software issues across various zOS levels.
+ Teach and assist users and other team members.
+ Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Extensive hands-on experience with z/OS systems programming.
+ Expert knowledge in catalog management, ISPF, z/FS, Unix System Services.
+ Experience with JES2/JES3, SYS1.PARMLIB, SYS1.PROCLIB.
+ Ability to configure couple datasets.
+ RACF administration experience, including User IDs, Groups, Certificates, and KeyRings.
+ IBM software installation via ServerPac, z/OSMF, CBPDO.
+ Understanding of DFSMS, DFHSM, DFDSS, DFRMM, System Logger, XCF.
+ Knowledge of DASD architecture, FICON/ESCON, cryptographic coprocessors, VTS.
+ Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of z/OS tasks.
+ Strong communication and mentoring skills.
Work Environment
This is a part-time position, preferred for 3 days a week, totaling approximately 24 hours per week. While the role is primarily remote, the option to come into the office occasionally is available for those located nearby.

This is a Contract position based out of Boulder, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $44.90 - $61.90/hr.
