    Payments Business Analyst

     

    Client: Large Banking Institution

     

    Contract: 6-month contract-to-hire

     

    Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst to join a dynamic payments team. This role requires a strong understanding of banking operations, payment systems, and agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical liaison between product owners and development teams, ensuring seamless translation of business needs into actionable user stories and technical requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Gather and document payment system requirements with precision and clarity.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision and align development priorities.

    + Lead ideation and conceptualization of new products, features, and enhancements to meet customer needs and drive competitive advantage.

    + Conduct Agile ceremonies and maintain artifacts using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

    + Develop and articulate product strategy to stakeholders, fostering alignment and support.

    + Perform process mapping and gap analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.

    + Ensure compliance with payment verification processes and regulatory requirements.

    + Work with multiple payment rails and integrations, including RTP, FedNow, ACH, and wire transfers.

    Required Skills & Experience

    + 5+ years of experience in payment systems requirements gathering and documentation.

    + Strong knowledge of banking operations and payment ecosystems (treasury vs. consumer).

    + Proven ability to bridge the gap between product owners and developers in an Agile environment.

    + Expertise in Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence) and experience facilitating Agile ceremonies.

    + Professional experience in banking or financial services.

    + Excellent communication, collaboration, and professional demeanor within a team environment.

    Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

    + Treasury management experience.

    + Familiarity with payment compliance and verification processes.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
