    The GMP Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center is a cutting-edge facility designed to manufacture clinical-grade cell therapies under the highest quality standards. Serving as a vital bridge between discovery and patient care, the laboratory supports pioneering cancer treatments and accelerates translational research. By enabling scientists and clinicians to transform breakthrough innovations into safe, effective therapies, the GMP Laboratory plays a central role in advancing MD Anderson's mission to end cancer.

     

    *The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Laboratory environment. *

    *The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm. *

    *Hourly Breakdown of salary range: Minimum $24.27 - Midpoint $30.28 - Maximum $36.29*

    *Key Responsibilities:*

    *Cell Manipulation and Processing*

    * *Innovative Techniques:* Perform advanced cell manipulation and testing procedures on irreplaceable cellular products.

    * *Regulatory Compliance*: Ensure meticulous documentation in line with FDA's Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Tissue Practices regulations, as well as standards set by other accreditation agencies including FACT, FACT/Netcord, CAP, and CLIA. Promptly document deviations and events, and notify relevant personnel.

    * *Aseptic Excellence*: Maintain aseptic techniques to guarantee the integrity, viability, and sterility of cellular products until final infusion to the patient. Adhere to specialized cleaning and gowning protocols.

    * *Precision Calculations*: Execute error-free calculations, including infusion cell doses, viabilities, dilutions, and cell concentrations.

    *Product Monitoring, Receiving, Storage, and Retrieval*

    * *Flexible Scheduling*: Adapt to a flexible work schedule based on patient/donor conditions, product/sample availability, and procedural modifications. Be prepared to handle the variable nature of incoming cellular products/samples and work in the presence of medications.

    * *Clinical Trial Adaptation*: Follow and adapt to procedures/policies from internal or external study sponsors on various clinical trials, ensuring adherence to all defined processing and documentation requirements.

    * *Data Management: *Utilize various computer systems and databases to enter, retrieve, and compile data, complete patient laboratory records, and prepare reports for review by laboratory directors, quality assurance, and physicians.

    * *Environmental Monitoring:* Perform routine environmental monitoring in the GMP facility and equipment maintenance at designated intervals. Coordinate timely completion of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance with outside contractors or vendors.

    * *Equipment Management: *Maintain an accurate equipment list for the facility, including maintenance schedules and related documentation. Review and evaluate monitoring alarm system reports, and promptly notify the appropriate laboratory supervisor or designee.

    *Transfer Technology*

    * *Quality Control: *Conduct quality control testing, routine equipment maintenance, and both basic and advanced troubleshooting. Given the unique nature of stem cell products, be prepared to rescue products in the event of equipment malfunctions.
