    CTG is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to join our client’s team in Durham, NC.

    Overview:

    This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting large-scale retail software solutions, with a particular emphasis on Point of Sale (POS) applications. This position requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams within an agile environment.

    Responsibilities:

    + Design, build, and maintain software solutions for large-scale retail applications.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define POS application requirements.

    + Write functional and design specifications; provide schedule inputs.

    + Develop software within an agile framework and support testing efforts.

    + Participate in maintenance activities and provide ongoing enhancements for delivered solutions.

    + Work closely with implementation and testing teams on design and development tasks.

    + Ensure coding standards and processes are followed consistently.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve software issues efficiently.

    Required Skills:

    + Strong programming and analytical abilities with attention to detail.

    + Proficient in Java SE (1.4.2+; Java 8 required) and Java Swing/UIXML schema design.

    + Experience with XML development and parsing.

    + Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitLab, etc.).

    + Knowledge of automated testing practices (JUnit preferred).

    + Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

    + Experience with agile development methodologies.

    + Comfortable using IDEs such as Eclipse or Visual Studio.

    + Operating systems knowledge: Windows and Linux.

    + Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

    + Willingness to travel as required.

    Experience:

    + Minimum 6+ years of software development experience.

    + Minimum 6+ years of experience with Elevate product usage.

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
