SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides advanced clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease pharmacotherapy services. As a subject matter expert, this role collaborates with infectious disease physicians, microbiology, and infection prevention teams to optimize antimicrobial use and improve patient outcomes by assisting providers in optimizing antimicrobial therapy by recommending appropriate drug, dose, route, and duration based on patient factors and pathogen susceptibility and monitoring for efficacy and toxicity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

+ A Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.

+ A.S.H.P. accredited PGY1 and relevant PGY2 specialty residency or equivalent experience required.

+ Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Pennsylvania.
