    Health Informatics Analyst

    Job Description

    The Health Informatics Analyst leverages data and informatics expertise to analyze clinical, financial, and operational information, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making and improve patient and business outcomes. This role designs and executes data-driven solutions using advanced tools and methodologies (e.g., SQL, Excel) to identify trends, address complex challenges, and support evidence-based decision-making. The position acts as a critical partner across business functions and translates complex data into actionable intelligence that drives efficiency, compliance, and long-term organizational growth.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze, mine, and document complex healthcare claims and authorizations data sets to identify patterns and trends using scripting, data blending, data visualization, and statistical programming languages to help translate high-level business problems into well-informed potential strategies and solutions

    + Partner with stakeholders to understand needs, ensure proper collection of data sources, acquire data, and organize data into a format that is readily available

    + Interpret results and present data as a compelling story that answer stakeholder questions, provide insights, and drive insightful decisions for leaders at all levels of the organization

    + Identify and solve problems through data analytics and statistical modeling, and determine the best approach in methodology

    + Perform ad hoc analyses of varying complexity and duration, delivering actionable insights aligned to business needs

    + Provide status reports that deliver clear, detailed descriptions of project progress, including time allocation by task

    + Coordinate and mentor analytics efforts performed by in-house staff or external consultants to ensure timely and accurate project delivery

    + Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High school diploma or GED required

    + 2 years of work experience in healthcare analytics

     

    Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship

    Additional Qualifications

    + Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

    + Effective communicator able to translate and explain technical data and insights to non-technical audience

    + Knowledge of pharmacy benefit structures, drug pricing and claims processing

    + Familiarity with drug coding systems (NDC) and medical coding (ICD, CPT, HCPCS)

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in a PBM, health plan, or payer organization

    + Experienced with transact-SQL (MS SQL or Oracle)

    + Experience with SAS, GCP, Python and/or other data mining tools

    + Experience working with large datasets, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools

    + First Databank, Medi-Span Experience

    Potential pay for this position ranges from $74,000.00 - $118,000.00 based on experience and skills.
