System Integration Engineer – Physical Security

Job Description:
V2X’s transportation solutions group is currently seeking a System Integration Engineer for its Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Intermodal Security projects contract. This individual will provide leadership and technical expertise for the selection, procurement, installation, training, testing, data collection, and reporting of advanced Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) physical security technologies in support of TSA stakeholders. The V2X engineering team consists of a diverse group of professionals tasked with designing, deploying, and evaluating physical security systems at mass transit venues and during special security events throughout the United States.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a System Integration Engineer, the individual must be able to research, select, design system architectures, install, and test sensors and physical security systems at multiple testbeds concurrently, helping deliver them on-time and in alignment with the stakeholder’s needs and expectations. The candidate will be tasked with managing and directing site surveys, market surveys, system designs, concepts of operations, construction management, systems installation, integration, testing, maintenance/logistics support, and customer reporting/briefing.
•This position is full-time, M-F, 40 hours per week, with a hybrid work from home/in office arrangement, expected to work 3 days/week on average (typically Tues-Thurs) from the V2X office in Harvard, Massachusetts.”
Required Skills:
+ 6-10 years of experience with physical security technologies, with strong understanding of the operating characteristics, capabilities, integration process, installation, and life-cycle management of a wide variety of COTS physical security, camera, and sensor technologies.
+ Ability to lead testing activities including development of site-specific test plans, test procedures, and data collection plans.
+ Ability to author and present technical reports and briefs based on analysis of operational test results and data collected from field sites to TSA and stakeholder audiences.
+ Experience interfacing with vendor/OEM personnel including sales, engineering, and senior leadership to communicate requirements and develop ideal configurations for sensors in alignment with TSA stakeholder security needs.
+ Ability to mentor and train junior engineers.
+ Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
+ Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, including nights & weekends, if/when specific test events require.
+ Ability to work on other programs or projects as needed or directed by V2X management.
+ Self-starter who brings a “can-do” positive attitude and enthusiasm for safeguarding the traveling public and critical infrastructure.
_Desired Skills:_
+ Comfort working directly with senior level stakeholders and V2X management.
+ Prior federal government contract experience.
+ Experience with AutoCAD, modeling and simulation tools/products.
+ Working knowledge of networking and Information Assurance principles.
+ Working knowledge of general building and electrical codes.
+ Active or the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
+ Familiarity with project financial tracking, budgeting, and EAC development.
+ Understanding of on-going business planning, program management reviews, and preparation of proposals.

+ Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution (i.e. Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Civil / Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
_Desired Education:_
+ Masters’s (MS) Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution (i.e. Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Civil / Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
_Salary Range:_
$90,000 – $110,000
