Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a CAD technician for a large engineering consulting firm in Savannah, GA. This candidate will perform computer aided drafting (CAD) for preparation of engineering drawings using industry appropriate software. The candidate will also perform hand drafting as needed. This person will work with engineers from multiple departments and utilize their drawings/drafts, information from vendor prints, catalogs and technical manuals and input this information/data into AutoCAD or ArcGIS and prepare engineering designs and drawings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects at one time as some projects can take a matter of hours whereas others can take weeks. This person will also serve as the drafting lead, discipline designer and/or drafting approver on multiple projects in providing those illustrated computerized drafts according to project specifications.

Skills and Requirements

>1+ years professional experience using AutoCAD

>Experience working with geographical maps

>GED or High School Diplomas

>Valid Driver's License

>must be able to utilize and orient multiple layers of data into one exhibit as it relates to scale and orientation.

>ability to use creative license to depict data.

>B.S. or A.S. (no particular degree/emphasis area -- experience based)

>Experience using AutoCAD professionally in an environmental engineering capacity (groundwater potentiometric maps, isoconcentration maps, using chem boxes to display lab data)

>Experience juggling multiple projects at one time

>3D drafting experience

>Experience drafting soil boring/groundwater monitoring well cross-section diagrams

>Proficient with ARCGIS software
