• Senior Java Developer (Multithreading)

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Senior Java Developer for our large media and entertainment client. This is a contract through July 2026 with likely extensions and this person will work pacific standard time. This person is joining a team of backend developers (about 25) that is responsible the development of one of their core systems. This application manages digital assets and metadata, allowing users to search, preview, and navigate through various groupings. The role primarily involves adapting existing functionality from the original platform to work with APIs on a new, custom-built microservices architecture. Most tasks will focus on refactoring and integration rather than new development. The application is built in Java and will gradually incorporate TypeScript and JavaScript for backend services. Multithreading knowledge and experience is critical for this role has many processes run concurrently and multiple tasks needed to be executed at the same time.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    7+ years of backend Java Development

     

    Experience with Springboot

     

    Experience with Typescript

     

    Recent Multithreading experience preferably with Java, but JavaScript could also be sufficient

     

    Experience and understanding of synchronization and concurrency

     

    AWS Services Experience - Lambda, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, WS -SNS, SQS, S3

     

    Unit Testing with Postman

     

    Strong communication

     

    PostgreSQL or MYSQL experience
