Service Technician – Commercial Security Systems
Overview:
The Service Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial security systems, including Mercury-based access control platforms and integrated CCTV solutions. This role requires strong technical skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites. This role will also be the communicator between all stakeholders, manage calendars and email responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, service, and preventative maintenance on access control systems (Lenel, Genetec, Honeywell, Software House).
Troubleshoot and repair Mercury-based access control hardware and IT-based CCTV systems.
Configure and maintain card readers, panels, and camera systems (Genetec, Milestone preferred).
Manage daily schedules, update work tickets, and communicate status to customers and internal teams.
Travel between sites (typically 60–80 miles) to complete service calls and projects.
Ensure accurate documentation and timely updates for all service activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain system integrity.

Skills and Requirements
Experience: 10+ years in commercial security systems service or installation.
Technical Knowledge:
Mercury-based access control systems
Lenel and Genetec platforms
Networking fundamentals (Cisco preferred)
CCTV systems troubleshooting
Familiarity with software platforms such as Software House or similar.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and customer service skills. Certifications in Lenel, Genetec, or related security technologies (not mandatory but highly desirable).
Experience with IT-based security systems and integrated solutions.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
