Software UI Engineer - Cloud-Native Observability Platform

We are the Catalyst Center Platforms and Capabilities team, responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-productivity cloud-native infrastructure and PaaS capabilities that power thousands of enterprise customers. Our mission is to drive Cisco’s digital infrastructure transformation through platform innovation. One of our key initiatives is a cloud-native observability platform purpose-built for Cisco Catalyst Center deployments—bridging on-premises network infrastructure with modern cloud observability practices to deliver comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and remediation capabilities.

    Who We are Looking For

Are you passionate about working with leading-edge technologies? Do you thrive in fast-paced, agile environments where innovation happens every day? Do deep technical discussions on topics like data collection and processing, monitoring and alerting, remote access and remediation, and analytics and insights energize you? If the idea of building a next-generation, cloud-native observability platform - a true single pane of glass for Support, Operations, and proactive monitoring - excites you, then you belong here.

If you answered "yes" to all the previous questions, you would fit right into our team!

    What You'll Do

We're looking for a Software UI Engineer to take ownership of building and shaping the user experience for our next-generation cloud-native observability platform.

In this role, you'll design and develop intuitive, high-performance interfaces that bring powerful observability and analytics capabilities to life, including:

    * Policy-driven metrics and log collection from Catalyst Center appliances

    * Real-time telemetry processing and intelligent correlation

    * Kubernetes configuration and event monitoring dashboards

    * Comprehensive alerting infrastructure with integrated runbooks

    * Centralized dashboards and visualizations for unified monitoring

    * Cross-system correlation and root-cause analysis experiences

You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, helping define how operators, support teams, and engineers visualize and act on data across Cisco's digital infrastructure.

    Required Qualifications

    * 8+ years of full-stack development experience with focus on data visualization and web applications

    * Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React for building interactive web interfaces

    * Experience with Go programming language for backend development and data processing

    * Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and data integration patterns

    * Knowledge of modern web development practices including responsive design and performance optimization

    * Experience with time-series databases such as Prometheus, InfluxDB, or similar systems

    * Knowledge of log aggregation systems like Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or similar platforms

    * Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

    * Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) including data services like S3, Athena

    * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes

    * Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools

Qualities that will help you succeed

    * Understanding of monitoring and observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces)

    * Previous experience with Grafana dashboard creation and management (highly valued but not required)

    * Knowledge of Grafana plugin development or similar extensible visualization platforms

    * Experience with monitoring platforms like Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic

    * Understanding of SLI/SLO frameworks and reliability engineering practices
