Meet the Team
Join Cisco Legal’s LIST (Legal Innovation, Strategy, and Technology) Team and be a trusted and creative partner to the business. We are a team comprised of lawyers, operational specialists, program managers, engineers and SMEs focused on topics including, AI strategy and governance, privacy, intellectual property and data strategy. You will partner with your colleagues in Legal and numerous other functions across the company to have an immediate impact with your business judgment and ability to get things done.
Your Impact
This critical role is responsible for leading a team in managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of impact assessments that includes privacy, data, AI and vendor compliance. The role will be responsible for growing the assessment process with a focus on AI. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring Cisco's compliance with evolving global AI, data, and privacy regulations, driving critical initiatives, and integrating ground breaking AI and automation into our assessment processes.
* Team Leadership & Management:
* Direct and mentor a team of assessors, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
* Manage the assessment process end-to-end, including queue management, prioritization, and workflow optimization.
* Strategic Assessment & Compliance:
* Lead the development and execution of all types of impact assessments, guiding the team through complex regulatory landscapes.
* Drive vendor assessments focused on privacy and AI, ensuring third-party compliance with Cisco's standards and legal requirements.
* Ensure the XIA team's activities are aligned with Legal's strategic objectives and Cisco's broader compliance requirements.
* Stay abreast of evolving AI, data, and privacy regulations globally and integrate them into assessment methodologies.
* Process Innovation & Automation:
* Promote the increased use of AI and automation within the assessment process to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
* Find opportunities for process redesign and technological integration to optimize team operations.
* Risk Mitigation:
* Play a key role in mitigating compliance risks associated with Cisco's products, services, and operations, particularly in the AI and data privacy domains.
* Ensure timely and effective completion of assessments to prevent defaults on compliance objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Law or related field).
* 7+ years of experience in compliance, legal operations, privacy, or a related field.
* 4+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
* Demonstrated knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and/or emerging AI regulatory frameworks including impact assessment process.
* Certifications in privacy (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E) or AI Governance
Preferred Qualifications
* Experienced Leader: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, preferably within a legal, compliance, or risk management function.
* Compliance & Governance Expert: Strong background in compliance, governance, data privacy, and/or legal operations.
* AI & Technology Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of AI technologies, their ethical implications, and emerging AI regulations. Experience with AI impact assessments or similar regulatory frameworks.
* Strategic Thinker: Ability to connect day-to-day operations with broader strategic objectives and contribute to the evolution of compliance programs.
* Process Oriented: Skilled in managing complex workflows, prioritizing tasks, and driving projects to completion.

The starting salary range posted for this position is $125,500.00 to $159,200.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
+ 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees
+ 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
+ Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
+ Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
+ 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
+ Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
+ Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
+ .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
+ 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
+ 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
+ Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:
New York City Metro Area:
$146,100.00 - $229,600.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$133,200.00 - $221,400.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
