    The Slate CRM Manager and Enrollment Systems Analyst is a strategic, technical, and operational leader responsible for the configuration, optimization, and daily management of the Technolutions Slate CRM system. This role supports recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and student engagement initiatives across graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs at the University of Washington Information School (iSchool). The incumbent collaborates cross-functionally with Admissions, Marketing, IT, Communications and academic units to streamline operations, enhance user experience, and drive data-informed decision-making.

     

    The Information School uses Slate to support the recruitment and admissions processes of the school and is expanding to support Student Success. The Information School is seeking a skilled CRM Manager with experience in implementing and maintaining Slate to support recruitment, admissions, and student success.

     

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Slate CRM Administration & System Support (40%)

    + Serve as the primary functional and technical lead for Slate CRM across the Information School.

    + Administer Slate user roles, permissions, and system configurations in alignment with data privacy policies.

    + Configure and maintain Slate components (fields, forms, workflows, triggers, rules, portals).

    + Design and support data synchronization with UW Enterprise Data Warehouse and other University systems.

    + In coordination with the respective subject matter experts, design and maintain automated workflows for application review, and other processes across the school.

    + Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement new Slate functionalities.

    + Evaluate new feature releases in Slate CRM and incorporate into iSchool systems as is deemed appropriate.

    + Coordinate software upgrades, feature rollouts, and user acceptance testing.

    + Maintain documentation, user manuals, SOPs, and training materials for Slate functionality.

    + Support event management and build Slate hosted event pages and registration workflows.

    Data Management & Reporting (25%)

    + Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of student data within Slate.

    + Conduct regular data audits and quality checks to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.

    + In coordination with IT, develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations between Slate and other systems. Ensuring smooth data transfers, detecting errors or failures in transfers.

    + Direct the building and maintenance of both ongoing and ad hoc data imports, including accurate mapping, deduplication of records, and automation when possible.

    + Create operational reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support enrollment strategy.

    + Collaborate with other Operational and Strategic Analysis staff, University IT, and others to ensure data governance and consistency.

    + Application & Admissions Workflow Support

    + Help manage application processes, reader bins, decision releases, and review workflows.

    + Support onboarding new programs and expansion of existing functionalities.

    + Maintain and support the Slate-to-Slate integration with the Graduate School Slate instance to ensure admissions data transfers smoothly.

    Engagement Strategy (20%)

    + In collaboration with Admissions Director and Program Managers, support population creation, query and report creation.

    + Collaborate with admissions teams to ensure lead origin sourcing, and admissions funnel tracking is supported through the configurations.

    Training, Documentation & Collaboration (10%)

    + Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for Slate users across departments.

    + Host workshops, onboarding sessions, and user meetings to gather feedback and identify system needs.

    + Monitor Slate community forums and share relevant updates with internal teams.

    Cross Functional Integration & Strategic Leadership (5%)

    + Coordinate CRM workflows across iSchool units of Admissions, Academics, IT, and central UW units.

    + Lead process improvement initiatives and ensure consistent implementation of policies.

    + Serve as liaison to external partners, consultants, and user groups.

    + Participate in strategic planning committees and advise senior leadership on CRM direction.

    + Represent the institution in professional associations, user groups, and data governance committees.

    + Attend and participate in team, committee, workgroup, iSchool, and/or University meetings to contribute to effective communication and collaboration.

    + Participate in and support team, iSchool, and University events, initiatives, and activities as needed.

    + Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to remain current on industry standards, emerging trends, and technological advancements.

    Lead Responsibilities

    This position has no lead responsibilities but may occasionally oversee the work of student assistants as needed.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no direct supervision responsibilities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., marketing, IT, education, information systems) or equivalent experience.

    + 3-5 years of experience managing Technolutions Slate CRM or similar platform.

    + _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration._

    Additional Required Qualifications

    + Technical proficiency in SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

    + Strong understanding of CRM functionality, admissions workflows, and student lifecycle management.

    + Experience in higher education technology administration and cross departmental collaboration.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

    + Excellent problem solving, communication, and project management skills.

    + Demonstrated experience working in diverse populations.

    Desired Qualifications

    + 5+ years of progressive leadership in admissions operations or enrollment systems.

    + Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, WebAdmit, OnBase, PeopleSoft).

    + Experience training end users and documenting system processes.

    + Strong technical writing and coaching skills.

    + Professional project management or IT certification.

    Position Complexities

    The iSchool Slate Manager regularly exercises independent judgment in managing complex admissions workflows, data integrity, and stakeholder communications across multiple academic programs. This role requires navigating competing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving institutional policies while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness. The position also demands sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and needs of prospective students, faculty, and staff.

     

    Position Dimensions and Impact to the University

     

    This position directly supports the strategic enrollment goals of the Information School by ensuring efficient and effective use of Slate for recruitment, admissions, and reporting. By optimizing data systems and streamlining processes, the Slate Manager enhances the applicant experience and empowers staff and faculty with actionable insights—contributing to the success of the iSchool and its reputation within the University of Washington.

    Working Conditions

    + Hybrid/Fully Remote flexibility.

    + Occasional schedule flexibility is required to support evening or weekend school/university events, typically a few times per year. Advance notice will be provided, when possible, for any required schedule adjustments related to special events or programming needs.

     

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $69,720.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $104,568.00 annual
