    First Student is seeking a skilled **Diesel Mechanic** to join our Jackson shop located at **5500 Highway 80 West, Jackson, MS 39209** . In this role, you will help ensure our fleet of school buses remains safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.

    Position Responsibilities

    + Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions

    + Diagnose mechanical issues and complete detailed work orders

    + Assist with mobile and emergency repair situations as needed

    + Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment

     

    Technicians are classified as safety-sensitive and must pass DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.
