    **Schedule:** Full Time Certified Surgical Tech

    **Shift:** 4-day 10hr shifts per week.

    **Location:** 120 North Oak Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521

    The role you'll contribute:

    Responsible for assisting with patient care in surgery by performing technical and delegated duties under general supervision. This position functions as a member of the surgical team, providing care to patients of various age groups from neonate to geriatric. This position actively participates in delivering outstanding customer service. Additionally, this role maintains respectful relationships with all individuals involved in patient care.

    The value you'll bring to the team:

    + Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure.

    + Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.

    + Maintains high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment.

    + Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times and directs ancillary personnel during room turnover.

    + Provides assistance and support to members of the surgical team as needed.

    + Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.

    + Promotes a safe environment and takes appropriate action in emergency situations, controlling hazards that may endanger patients, visitors, and employees.

    + Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE appropriately, and performs hand washing according to policy, adhering to all infection control practices.

    + Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.

    + Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities; maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff; and responds to complaints in a timely manner.

    + Monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team and takes immediate corrective action for any breaks in technique.

    + Identifies and reports environmental concerns to management and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and policies.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed** **:

    + High School Grad or Equiv Required

    + Technical/Vocational School Preferred

    + Associate Preferred

    + One or more years of Work Experience Preferred

    + Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.

    + Basic skills and related to aseptic/ sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation

    + Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required and

    + Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Cert Required
