Shift/Hours: Rotating 6am-2pm/11am-7pm
Pay Rate = $23.00-$26.00 per hour
Education/Experience/Personal Requirements:
+ Commercial cooking experience preferred or domestic cooking experience with large groups.
+ Enjoy working with older adults.
+ Certificate in food-preparation training preferred.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Must have valid Food Handlers Serve Safe Certification
Responsibilities
+ Alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or to improve recipes. Recipes should be prepared with little or no added sodium (salt).
+ Maintains a written inventory of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen foods, non-food supplies, dishes and utensils.
+ Prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensures proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
+ Maintains a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
+ Ensures proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
+ Ensures compliance with regulations.
+ Monitors portion control to meet resident' requests and minimizes waste.
+ Ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
+ Notify Manager of malfunction of equipment or appliances.
+ Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
+ Follows emergency operations plans and properly in the usage of firefighting equipment and ensures resident evacuation of the building.
+ Prepares food daily as outlined on the weekly menu plan.
+ Assists with menu planning; review and adjust menus with supervisor to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events and holiday.
+ Must adhere to all Human Resources and facility policy and procedures.
+ Follows established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policy and procedure when performing daily tasks.
