    SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Senior Mechanical Procurement Engineer** to support the Mobility Platform Integration team. This position is based at the EastGate facility in **Bedford, Indiana** , and requires up to 25% travel to various CONUS locations. The ideal candidate will provide technical, programmatic, and administrative support to develop and maintain documentation required for the ACAT II program in accordance with DoDI 5000.80. This role involves ensuring all documentation aligns with statutory and regulatory requirements, tailored to the MTA framework's rapid acquisition intent.

    Job Description:

    Acquisition Documentation Development:

    + Develop, update, and maintain essential program documents such as the Acquisition Strategy, Program Schedule, Test Strategy, Cost Estimates, Risk Management Plan, Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, and Configuration Management Plan.Ensure documents reflect appropriate tailoring consistent with MTA rapid prototyping or rapid fielding objectives. **Governance and Decision Support:**

    + Prepare and coordinate materials to support key program decisions, milestone reviews, and governance boards (e.g., MTA transition briefs, Configuration Steering Boards, and Program Management Reviews).

    + Ensure all documentation adheres to DoD Component and OSD-level approval standards. **Data and Records Management:**

    + Establish and maintain a centralized repository for all acquisition documentation and records.

    + Implement configuration control and version management processes in compliance with DoD cybersecurity and records management policies. **Integration and Coordination:**

    + Coordinate across Government leads, prime contractors, and integrated product teams (IPTs) to compile accurate technical, schedule, and cost data for documentation packages.

    + Facilitate document reviews, adjudicate comments, and ensure final submission meets Government standards for accuracy and completeness. **Deliverables:**

    + **Monthly Status Report:**

    + Monthly summary of activities, risks, accomplishments, and upcoming deliverable.

    + **Acquisition Documentation Package:**

    + Tailored set of required MTA documentation (Acquisition Strategy, Test Strategy, Cost Estimate, etc.).

    + **Program Decision Briefs:**

    + PowerPoint and narrative materials supporting MTA decision points and reviews.

    + **Documentation Tracker and Configuration Log:**

    + Monthly updated list of all program documents, versions, and review status.

    + **Lessons Learned and Transition Report:**

    + Summary of documentation process effectiveness and recommendations for transition to Major Capability Acquisition (MCA).

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience. **Required Skills:**

    + Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical systems design and analysis.

    + General knowledge of related disciplines.

    + Strong analytical skills to provide technical solutions to a wide range of problems.

    + Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.

    + Proficient in statistical data analysis and compiling information to support procurement decisions.

    + Excellent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills for frequent inter-organizational and customer contacts.

    + Ability to contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.

    + Strong organizational skills to manage records and follow up on procurement processes.

    + Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements (DoDI 5000.80).

    + Experience with centralized documentation repositories, configuration control, and version management.

    + Ability to coordinate technical, schedule, and cost data across multiple stakeholders.
