    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced **Mechanical Engineer** to perform a broad range of complex engineering functions related to the design, testing, and evaluation of **mechanical, optical, and thermal systems** for **EPI/FEP systems** . You will work collaboratively with other business unit groups and suppliers to develop and integrate advanced mechanical designs into EPI/FEP systems.

     

    Your responsibilities will include conducting feasibility studies, developing engineering prototypes, and testing new and modified designs, ECO to release new part numbers. You will be assigned independent mechanical design projects, allowing for innovation and technical leadership. Additionally, you may address field issues and provide guidance to field teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for EPI/FEP systems.

    + Conduct feasibility studies and prototype development for new concepts.

    + Perform thermal analysis and simulation for conduction and convection-based mechanisms.

    + Apply **Model-Based Definition (MBD)** and tolerance analysis in designs.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure design integration.

    + Support field teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting.

    + Document designs and maintain compliance with engineering standards and FMEA practices.

    + Perform FA using 8D methodology

    + Conduct requirements studies of customer high-value problem (HVP)

    Required Skills & Experience

    + **Education:**

    + BS in Mechanical, Thermal, or Physics; MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

    + **Experience:**

    + BS + 5 years minimum OR MS + 2 years minimum in semiconductor test industry, semiconductor capital equipment, or high-technology environments.

    + **Technical Skills:**

    + Proficient in NX and Model-Based Definition (MBD).

    + Strong background in thermal systems (conduction and convection mechanisms).

    + Knowledge of heat transfer fundamentals and FEA basics.

    + Experience in thermal simulation and analysis.

    + Familiarity with **FMEA** and tolerance analysis.

    + Experience designing **compact mechanisms** .

    + **Soft Skills:**

    + Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

    To meet minimum qualifications for this opportunity you must have the following:

    - minimum of 5 years experience hands on experience in EPI or FEB strongly preferred!

     

    - minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

     

    - Must be based in Santa Clara/vicinity (no relocation available)

    The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

     

    For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
