    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    As a Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals at The Greentree Group to help us grow our presence across Texas state agencies, as we look to expand our Texas state and public sector portfolio. Reporting directly to a Principal overseeing our public sector portfolio, this role will drive relationship development and opportunity identification within Texas state agencies. You will collaborate closely with our Texas lobbyist and executive leadership to build connections, identify funded initiatives, and align agency needs with Greentree’s consulting capabilities.     SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    + Collaborate with senior-leadership team to develop strategic and tactical responses. Maintain knowledge and expertise in relevant products and markets; monitor competitive activity and market trends.

    + Represent The Greentree Group at Austin industry events, state technology conferences, and other IT public sector networking forums.

    + Build and maintain relationships with agency CIOs, program executives, and procurement leaders across Texas.

    + Partner with Greentree’s Executive Team and lobbyists to identify new business opportunities, funded projects, and upcoming procurements.

    + Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to state executives on industry trends, best practices, and innovative solutions.

    + Analyze existing and anticipated client needs and promote company services to meet such requirements.

    + Exercise independent judgment in preparing and implementing sales and business development plans, sales forecasts, and strategies.

    + Conduct ongoing market and funding research to anticipate IT consulting needs across agencies.

    + Coordinate and participate in in-person and virtual client meetings, both independently and alongside company leadership, to support new business development.

    + Support development of capture strategies, pursuit plans, and teaming approaches for new opportunities.

    + Assist in drafting and coordinating responses to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.

    + Maintain a structured pipeline of Texas public sector opportunities and track capture progress.

    + Contribute to proposal development, including capability statements, resumes, and technical content.

    + Support internal business development operations, including CRM updates, competitor analysis, and pipeline reporting.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in business development, client engagement, or capture management within consulting, IT services, or public sector markets; 5+ years of experience in public sector markets.

    + Strong knowledge of the Texas state and local government ecosystem, including key agencies, procurement processes, and IT funding trends; Anticipate the state's future needs and proactively position our capabilities.

    + Demonstrated ability to build and sustain executive relationships and represent a company at industry events.

    + Ability to manage multiple senior-level relationships and have a strong customer orientation. Must be able to manage extensive sales processes in complex customer organizations.

    + Experience conducting market research to understand competition, rates, previous contracts, etc.

    + Experience supporting or leading state-level RFP/RFQ responses and understanding the sales lifecycle for professional services.

    + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with executive-level clients.

    + Self-starter with strong organizational and follow-through skills; able to manage multiple efforts simultaneously.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with CRM tools or pipeline tracking systems.

    Compensation / Salary Range: Greentree adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position. The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

     

    Salary Range: $115,000 to $150,000

     

    Bonuses: Greentree has an employee referral bonus, as well as employee bonuses based on employee contributions and Greentree’s yearly performance.
