Overview
We’re looking for a Vice President, Director of Data Strategy who can bridge data and creativity — someone who sees insight not as the end goal, but as the spark that ignites possibility. This leader will elevate how data inspires strategy, storytelling, and creative across our clients’ most ambitious health brands.
The ideal candidate has a foundation in **marketing, engagement, or digital strategy** , with a strong appreciation for how data fuels powerful narratives. They can translate complex analysis into compelling stories that drive decision-making and inspire action. Beyond client delivery, they’ll be a **culture-maker** and **team builder** , helping our data strategists grow into confident storytellers, trusted partners, and relentless pursuers of excellence.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Lead Data Strategy Craft & Delivery
+ Shape and own the data strategy vision for key brands and integrated client engagements, connecting insight to creative, media, and engagement strategy.
+ Communicate the vision and objectives of Data Strategy across department, cross-functional teams, and with clients. Influence through clarity, empathy, and strategic storytelling. Aware of Groupe-level solutions and points of contact.
+ Guide teams to move beyond reporting — crafting strategic narratives that answer “so what” and “now what” in every deliverable.
+ Oversee and elevate core data strategy projects including:
+ Audience design and segmentation to identify, profile, and prioritize opportunity audiences.
+ Audience profiling and insight generation leveraging claims, behavioral, and attitudinal data.
+ Market and competitive intelligence to inform brand and category positioning and narrative.
+ Content intelligence and performance analytics to understand what assets and attributes drive impact.
+ Learning agendas and success frameworks to inform strategic and tactical optimization, framing conversations around what matters most.
+ Partner with Integrated Strategy and Creative leads to embed data-driven thinking from the start of every engagement.
Inspire, Mentor, and Grow Talent
+ Acts as a cross-capability leader within their book of business. Fosters collaboration and alignment toward shared strategic goals. Guides strategic resourcing, ensuring balance between delivery and growth.
+ Lead and coach a team of data strategists across multiple accounts, fostering growth, empowerment, and creative curiosity.
+ Model a culture of ownership, collaboration, and experimentation, pushing the team to “fail forward,” share learnings, and constantly raise the bar.
+ Develop and nurture future leaders through hands-on mentorship, actionable feedback, and clear paths for advancement aligned to the DNA career ladder.
Drive Operational and Strategic Excellence
+ Oversee delivery quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance across your book of business.
+ Partner with senior leadership to optimize team resourcing, scope planning, and prioritization of high-value work.
+ Collaborate with colleagues across Data Science, Technology, and Integrated Strategy to evolve tools, methodologies, and frameworks that strengthen the agency’s data-driven storytelling.
Champion Innovation
+ Identify opportunities to pilot new methods, data sources, or storytelling formats that elevate our offering.
+ Advocate for how Data Strategy can drive transformation, within DNA and DH, as well as across client organizations.
+ Represent Data Strategy as a thought leader in internal forums, client presentations, and (potentially) industry conversations.
Qualifications
+ **Who You Are**
+ A strategic storyteller with 10-15+ years in marketing, advertising, or health communications, ideally including experience in engagement or digital strategy.
+ A strategist who is fluent in how data informs creative, engagement strategy, and media activation, but even more fluent in how to make insights resonate.
+ A talent-centered manager who is experienced in leading and inspiring teams.
+ A senior leader who thrives in high ambiguity, fast-paced, collaborative environments and can balance big-picture thinking with operational rigor.
+ A culture builder who leads with empathy, energy, and accountability, making people better just by working with you.
+ An assertive champion who is comfortable presenting to senior clients and agency leadership and advocating for the department’s vision and mission, simplifying complexity and inspiring confidence.
+ A believer in healthy growth and evolution – yours, your team’s, and the agency’s. **Why You’ll Love This Role** You’ll help define the future of Data Strategy at Digitas Health, building a capability that doesn’t just report on what happened but reveals what’s possible. You’ll shape the stories that connect creativity and science, and the culture that empowers our strategists to push boundaries every day.
