**Corteva Agriscience™** is seeking a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join our Protein Analysis Immunochemistry (PAIC) team within the Protein and Analytical Core Technologies (PACT) group. The PAIC team specializes in high-throughput detection and quantification of target proteins in transgenic plants using advanced antibody-based techniques. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative agricultural solutions by supporting protein analysis workflows and driving process improvements. The successful candidate will play a key role as a data analyst interpreting experimental results, optimizing workflows, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of protein quantification.
What You’ll Do:
+ **Data analyst**
+ Ensure high-quality and timely quality-controlled protein expression analysis.
+ Critically analyze experimental designs, interpret data, and draw evidence-based conclusions from experimental results.
+ Design, execute, and analyze assay maintenance experiments, including performance optimization and reagent replacement.
+ Demonstrate acute attention to detail when designing and executing experiments, recording experimental data analysis and conclusions in electronic notebooks and software applications.
+ **Operations**
+ Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
+ Serve as team lead for assigned program initiatives, ensuring adherence to requirements and monitoring compliance.
+ Collaborate with colleagues in Farming Solutions & Digital (FS&D) to test and implement laboratory software and automation advancements.
+ **Protein expression analysis**
+ Perform high-throughput plant tissue protein extractions and immunochemistry assays in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated laboratory equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
+ Promote and maintain an organized and safe working environment.
+ Support routine laboratory operations, including general maintenance, lab supply inventory, reagent preparation, and equipment upkeep.
What Skills You Need:
Required Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, with 2–3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A supplemental major, minor, or certificate in a computer science related field is a plus.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and analytical software tools.
+ Ability to independently review quality control and protein expression outcomes, interpret historical trends, troubleshoot performance issues, and track variables.
+ Strong computer skills and innovative application of lab workflow and data analysis software tools.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving and process improvement skills.
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Acute attention to detail and the ability to focus during repetitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
+ Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal and technical growth.
+ Strong written, oral, and organizational skills.
Other Skills & Abilities
+ Experience in immunochemistry, high-throughput analysis, and laboratory automation.
+ Demonstrated computer programming skills, including the ability to write, modify, debug, and adapt laboratory software and automation applications, algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data structures to support lab workflows and maximize productivity and efficiency.
