DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented **First Officer** to join our team specializing in **Aviation** for our **Corporate** organization in **Columbus, IN** .
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
+ **Support Safe and Efficient Flight Operations** By performing duties assigned by the Captain and adhering to regulations, you'll help ensure every flight is conducted safely and smoothly.
+ **Ensure Regulatory Compliance** Your vigilance in following federal, state, local, and international aviation regulations will protect the company from legal risks and uphold industry standards.
+ **Make Critical Weather-Based Decisions** Your analysis of weather conditions and ability to make informed decisions about flight delays, cancellations, or route changes will directly impact passenger safety and operational efficiency.
+ **Optimize Flight Planning and Performance** Reviewing flight plans, calculating weight and balance, and using performance charts ensures the aircraft operates within safe and efficient parameters.
+ **Enhance Passenger Experience** By preparing the aircraft and providing excellent customer service, you'll contribute to a positive and comfortable experience for passengers, reinforcing the company’s reputation.
+ **Maintain Aircraft Readiness** Ensuring the aircraft is clean, stocked, and ready for flight supports both safety and customer satisfaction.
+ **Contribute to Departmental Excellence** Your involvement in documentation, safety committees, or hiring initiatives will help shape a strong, collaborative, and safety-focused flight department.
+ **Support Company-Wide Initiatives** Participation in broader team or company efforts shows leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement beyond your core responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
+ Aircraft Knowledge - Demonstrates practical and applicable knowledge of the limitations and systems of assigned aircraft.
+ Aircraft Problem Solving and Decision-Making Quality - Identifies and verifies issues to make timely decisions when faced with unforeseen circumstances to achieve a safe outcome.
+ Aircraft Situational Awareness - Is aware of the state of the aircraft, its systems, and surrounding environment.
+ Aircraft Workload Management - Plans, prepares, prioritizes, schedules, and delegates aircraft tasks effectively.
+ Application of Aircraft Procedures - Follows standard operating procedures unless a higher degree of safety dictates otherwise.
+ Aviation Communication - Knows what, how, when, how much and with whom s/he needs to communicate.
+ Aviation Error and Threat Management - Identify and mitigate errors and threats to prevent an unsafe outcome.
+ Aviation Leadership and Teamwork - Understands and agrees with the crew’s roles and objectives.
+ Aviation Regulations and Policies - Understands and complies with the policies and regulations set forth by the FAA and State Authorities. Knowledgeable of the Federal Aviation Regulations, Corporate Aviation Manual and General Operations Manuals, as appropriate. Competent in FAR 91 and 125
+ Flight Path Management - Controls the aircraft using both manual and automatic methodologies with accuracy and smoothness as appropriate to the situation.
+ Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Valid U.S. Passport
+ Valid first class medical certificate
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Valid FAA Commercial Pilot License with an instrument rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
+ 1,000 hours total flight time
+ 500 hours Pilot in Command turbine time
+ Successful completion of a FAA instrument proficiency check within the previous 12 months
+ 50 hours of multi-engine, turbine time in the past six months is preferred
Experience:
+ Intermediate level of relative work experience in a corporate aviation setting is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to pass FAA Pilot Records Database (formerly PRIA) background check.
Candidate must also pass a National Driver Register check.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
