What We Offer
+ Schedule: PRN (per diem)
+ There is no set schedule or guaranteed hours for PRN, based on the centers need. Estimated department need is two days per week. Requires 1 Monday and 1 Friday per 6 week time tract.
+ Hours will generally be 6:30A-3:00P, M-F. No weekends, no holidays, no call!
+ Department: Operating Room
+ Location: Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), 1730 Kernersville Medical Parkway, Kernersville, North Carolina
+ Unit Info: Procedures range from opthalmology, ortho, pain management, podiatry, urology and occasional pediatric patients.
+ Requirements: Candidate must have at least two years of Surg Tech experience. See additional qualifications section below.
The ASC Surgical Technologist is expected to work in an operating suite for the center. The ASC Surgical Technologist is able to function as a team member in an ASC environment through cross-training to other primary areas, assisting with turnover, and all other aspects of day-to-day ASC operations.
What We're Looking For
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
+ Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech Certification, preferred.
+ Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements may apply: recommended for new graduates to obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
+ Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to sterile processing.
