    Please review the following job description:

    Responsible for timely review of transactions and client relationships to ensure consistency with applicable sanctions laws and regulations. Requires a technical understanding of U.S. economic and financial sanctions (primarily OFAC).

     

    This position is an office-centric position. No remote option available.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

     

    1. Conduct timely reviews, analysis, and disposition of sanctions-related alerts for clients and transactions to support Truist’s compliance with applicable sanctions laws and regulations.

    2. Communicate with relationship Managers, branch associates, and other teammates as needed to gather additional client information to support investigations.

    3. Serve as a point of contact for internal sanctions-related questions.

    4. Use various research and screening tools to assess sanctions risk and exposure.

    5. Stay updated on current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations.

    6. Participate in sanctions and AML/CFT training through webinars, periodicals, and self -study to maintain timely understanding of sanctions and AML laws and regulations.

    7. Keep aware of national and global events and industry trends relating to sanctions compliance to mitigate potential sanctions risks to Truist.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    1. College degree.

    2. At least two years of relevant experience at a financial institution or relevant government agency.

    3. Knowledge of U.S. economic sanctions regulations and laws (particularly OFAC) and experience assessing economic and financial sanctions regulations with specific fact patterns.

    4. Ability to understand and execute detailed procedures, policies, and regulations that govern the department.

    5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    6. Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and define issues, establish facts, analyze moderately complex information, and develop substantiated conclusions with minimal supervision.

    7. Ability to liaise among internal teams, external business units, and other stakeholders.

    8. Verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with internal teammates and external entities.

    9. Skills in investigative research and documentation.

    10. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Minimum of 2 years of experience with OFAC/sanctions

    2. Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve challenges

    3. Familiarity with the review and disposition of sanctions-related alerts; ability to obtain necessary information to classify a sanctions hit as a correct match or false positive with limited guidance

    4. Experience collaborating with team members of all levels, cross-functional partners, and briefing management

    5. Ability to work independently, under time constraints, and manage time efficiently and effectively

    6. Ability to liaise between internal teams and with external business units

    7. Bachelor’s degree
