Job Summary:Researches, analyzes, and reconciles all credit balances within assigned accounts to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
Job Description:
The Refunds Specialist is responsible for reviewing accounts with credit balances, determining the reason for the credit, and initiating refunds when appropriate. This role requires strong attention to detail and consistent follow-up to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:• Reviewing all accounts with credit balances and identifying causes.• Requesting refunds as needed in accordance with policy and payer guidelines.• Analyzing daily credit balance reports to identify and correct inaccurate contractual adjustments.• Partnering with the supervisor to identify and address contract modeling issues that may generate recurring credit balances.• Responding to third-party payer inquiries and resolving issues related to credit balances.• Maintaining complete and accurate refund documentation in alignment with internal audit requirements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to support accurate account reconciliation and financial integrity.
