Summary:
The Transmission Technology Resilience Lead is responsible for driving forward-thinking initiatives aimed at enhancing the reliability, security, and efficiency of our transmission infrastructure through innovative solutions and resilience strategies. This position leads and collaborates across departments to evaluate new technologies and oversee projects that ensure long-term resilience and modernization of our transmission network.
Total Rewards:
A typical starting range for this position is $139,000 - $191,000 + annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leads or supports the evaluation, development, execution, and oversight of technology pilot projects.
• Leads Transmission’s Technology Team and develops the tools and processes for gathering, evaluating, and prioritizing technology and innovation ideas from the business.
• Works with project management functions and impacted stakeholder groups to develop technology pilot projects that include scope, schedule, cost estimate and resource assignments.
• Leads cross-division collaboration to integrate resilience considerations into infrastructure planning, grid modernization projects, and emergency response protocols.
• Manages the transmission system resilience program to reduce risk, ensure operational continuity, and enable rapid recovery from disruptions.
• Identifies emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovative practices to enhance transmission system resilience and efficiency.
• Researches and assesses emerging technologies (e.g., advanced conductors, GETs, energy storage, sensors, artificial intelligence) for applicability to transmission operations.
• Promotes awareness of innovation efforts primarily within transmission division but also corporate-wide and with our member-owners.
• Reports on pilot outcomes, ROI, and strategic alignment to the transmission senior leadership team.
• Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of innovation and resilience initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business or technology related field.
AND
• 7-10 years of experience working within the electrical utility industry and/or the transmission sector to include a minimum of 5 years’ experience specifically responsible for transmission and/or technology project/program management within the utility industry.
• Please note: A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
• Proven track record in managing transmission projects and programs related to innovation and resilience.
• Advanced level of proficiency in project management tools and data analysis platforms. Experience with Primavera and Power BI strongly preferred. Other project management tools and data visualization tools are acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of transmission system operation, resilience strategies, and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of issues related to energy resilience, energy security, cybersecurity, energy emergency response and hazard mitigation.
• Ability to evaluate technical and economic feasibility of new solutions.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and business cases.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
