POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ER tech to join the Emergency Dept team. You will perform clerical and receptionist duties, and provide quality care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family for each other and our patients and their families.

In this role you will:

+ **Demonstrate knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiac monitoring, and 12 lead EKG.**

+ **Practice, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.**

+ **Demonstrate knowledge and respect of patient’s right to privacy and protection of patient’s confidentiality.**

+ **Plans, organize and communicate patient care activities to the patient and the Registered Nurse.**

+ **Monitor and document information regarding patient activities, as directed by the Registered Nurse.**

+ **Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.**

+ **May have access to the designated areas to transport, assemble, and stock (inventory) of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations.**

Job Requirements:

+ **High School or equivalency required**

+ **EMT-B certificate from State of Florida, Florida CNA license, Medical Assistant or Military Medic/Corpsman training.**

+ **BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required**

+ **Unit secretary skills preferred**

+ **Cardiac monitoring preferred**

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

+ Drivers License

+ (EMT-State) Emergency Medical Technician

+ Associate Degree, or Certificate

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital. For 40 years, we have served Bay County and the surrounding communities. We are an accredited facility offering comprehensive care.
