    Description:

    Advanced Sterile Processing Compounding Tech

     

    Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical compounded products to various customers by complying with Federal, State, and U.S. Pharmacopeia requirements. This role is preserved for pharmacy technicians whose primary function is to perform sterile compounding. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.

    Experience Required:

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician required.

    + Minimum of 2 (2) years of sterile compounding experience required.

    + Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy

    + Pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam or accepted national certification program within 90 days from hire.

    + Completed competencies in sterile compounding, including hazardous compounding.

    What You Will Do:

    + Competent to work in the IV room, including performing high risk/hazardous compounding.

    + Advanced understanding of current USP standards, documentation, and EMR compounding workflows.

    + Provides some functional supervision of technicians.

    + Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service.

    + Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.

    + Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students.

    + Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.

    + Strives for and models exactness in following defined sterile procedure and aseptic technique

    **Hours and location:** You will enjoy three days off each week! This position features four 10hr shifts per week, no weekends, nights or holidays! The Adv Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Tech will support patient care predominently in the Boise Regional Medical Center. There could be occasions for one to support patients at the Nampa Medical Center on rare occasions.
