Position: Logistics Material Handler (2nd Shift)
**Location:** Centralia, IL
**Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (with occasional overtime)
**Pay:** $20-21.50/hr starting
Manpower is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented **Logistics Material Handler** for a direct hire to join our client's warehouse team. Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, this role is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, distribution, and inventory management of materials to support manufacturing and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to supporting company goals.
Key Responsibilities
+ Accurately pull and deliver orders from inventory to designated locations
+ Move stock from staging areas to appropriate bin locations
+ Count, weigh, verify, and record inventory quantities using computer systems
+ Issue and stage parts/materials for manufacturing as requested
+ Fulfill customer orders using picking tickets; organize items for packaging
+ Perform scheduled cycle counts and replenish stock as needed
+ Verify stock against customer orders prior to packaging
+ Select appropriate containers and packaging materials to ensure product protection and cost efficiency
+ Construct custom shipping containers using hand and power tools
+ Safely position and secure products for shipment; apply labels and special designations
+ Shrink-wrap, band skids, and load trucks per instructions
+ Report equipment malfunctions, material defects, and unusual conditions to supervisor
+ Operate a box truck (Class C license required or willingness to obtain)
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
+ Support additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, including extended hours when necessary
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
+ Must pass DOT drug screen and physical; Class C license or ability to obtain
+ Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
+ Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and math
+ Computer literacy, including data entry and word processing
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and management
+ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
+ Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
+ Flexible schedule based on business needs
+ Capable of heavy lifting (50+ lbs) and performing physical tasks including bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, standing, and squatting
+ Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
+ Strong attendance record
