Our mission is to equip students with the essential concepts, knowledge, and skills of basic healthcare, while staying attuned to the unique needs of the local employment market and upholding high educational standards.**Position Summary:**The Registered Nurse (RN) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to adult students in various health career programs, with a specific focus on Electrocardiography (EKG) and Phlebotomy. The instructor will ensure that students acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to meet industry standards and achieve certification. This role requires a passionate educator with recent patient care experience and expertise in EKG and phlebotomy procedures.**Key Responsibilities:*** Develop and deliver engaging curriculum for EKG and Phlebotomy courses, adhering to New York State adult trade school regulations and industry best practices.* Provide comprehensive instruction on the anatomical location of the heart, cardiovascular system functions, electrical conduction system, and EKG testing procedures, including 12-Lead EKG rhythm strip acquisition and interpretation of various rhythms (Sinus, Atrial, Junctional, Ventricular, Atrioventricular Blocks, Pacemaker Rhythm).* Teach various phlebotomy methods, including venous blood draws (multi-sample needle, butterfly syringe), capillary blood withdrawal, and proper use of equipment like microhematocrit centrifuges and glucometers.* Educate students on proper techniques for disinfection, infection control, and the safe disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA guidelines.* Supervise students during practical training sessions, ensuring proficiency in EKG and phlebotomy skills.* Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and lab exercises, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate grade records.* Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment in both classroom and laboratory settings.* Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and educational best practices.* Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including attendance and grading regulations.* Communicate effectively with students, addressing academic performance issues and escalating challenges to the Director when necessary.**To Apply:**Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to [email protected]

    Qualifications

    **Qualifications:*** Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.* Minimum of two (2) years of recent patient care experience.* Demonstrated expertise and experience in performing phlebotomy and EKG procedures.* Strong understanding of adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies.* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.* Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.* Prior teaching experience in a health career training program or adult trade school is preferred.* Certified EKG Technician or Certified Phlebotomy Technician is preferred.**Education:*** Associate of Science in Nursing or higher.
