Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to efficiently fill prescription requests in a high-volume automated refill setting. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist, preparing, packaging, and distributing medications within a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

+ Manually fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules, ensuring accuracy by reading computer-generated screens and verifying merchandise on labeled shelves.

+ Replenish medication in automated dispensing cells to full capacity, using handheld scanners to enter expiration and lot information while maintaining focus to prevent cross-contamination.

+ Perform weekly cycle counts as assigned, auditing cell inventory and assisting with root cause analysis of discrepancies.

+ Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions by adhering to specific handling and packaging requirements.

+ Assist with packing and shipping prescriptions, ensuring compliance with federal and state HIPAA laws for patient safety and privacy.

+ Demonstrate problem resolution skills by recognizing, addressing, and escalating issues to management.

+ Perform cleaning and maintenance on all cells and cassettes, including disassembling automated cells and conducting calibration audits.

Essential Skills

+ At least one year of experience in a pharmacy retail or customer service setting.

+ Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA laws.

+ High School Degree or equivalent experience.

+ CA Pharmacy Technician license required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ PTCB National certification preferred.

+ Skill using Mini Parata, Kalish, and similar cassettes is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large-scale pharmacy/warehouse production environment located onsite in West Sacramento, CA. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential shift changes after four weeks to a Sunday-Thursday schedule. Sunday hours are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with the rest of the week from 1:30 PM to 10 PM. Employees may experience exposure to cold conditions in refrigerated walk-in stations and occasional handling of environmentally hazardous medications. Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up to 10lbs for two hours per day, continuous standing and walking for eight hours per day, and keyboard use for two hours per day.

This is a Contract position based out of West Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
