    Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

    Job Description

    We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer II to join our dynamic team. As a full-service architectural and engineering firm, we provide comprehensive design services to markets including education, healthcare, commercial, data centers, research and development, sports, recreation and athletics, and industrial sectors.     Responsibilities

    + Act as project mechanical engineer for the design, development, and documentation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature controls systems on small to medium-sized projects.

    + Assist lead project mechanical engineer with similar responsibilities on large and complex projects.

    + Perform energy and economic analysis for proposed building systems.

    + Research and document any required code review for assigned projects.

    + Conduct product research as needed for project development.

    + Attend project team coordination meetings and owner review meetings.

    + Develop materials for client presentations and review meetings.

    + Present mechanical system concepts/designs to clients and/or design review committees.

    + Develop and edit project specifications.

    + Review product shop drawings/submittals.

    + Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs).

    + Visit project construction sites to review progress and answer contractor inquiries.

    + Maintain relationships with new and existing clients.

    + Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and service, and follow up with improvement implementation.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and design software.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, project management, and architecture.

    + Experience with HVAC systems and building codes.

    + Familiarity with CAD and BIM technologies.

    + Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    + 4-7 years of relevant experience.

    + Significant knowledge of structural design for residential and commercial construction.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + LEED accreditation is a plus.

    + BIM experience is advantageous.

    + Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
