Description
Seeking a highly detail-oriented Estimator/Buyer/Commodity Manager to join our team . This role is critical in managing quoting processes, materials procurement, and supply chain oversight while ensuring efficient turnaround times and accurate lead times for our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in estimating, materials management, and procurement.
Estimating (60% of role):
Prepare accurate quotes for incoming requests, handling 5–6 tickets daily or up to 20 weekly.
Analyze load volume, materials, and similar products or processes using Job Boss ERP.
Address quoting challenges caused by multiple sales representatives across the country and varying ERP systems.
Materials & Commodity Management (20% of role):
Work directly with customers on incoming materials to improve turnaround times and lead times.
Oversee inventory control within the supply chain structure, ensuring accuracy and resolving overages.
Manage procurement activities for steel and Nitinol materials.
Buying & Supply Chain Oversight (20% of role):
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain material flow and prevent delays.
Monitor ERP (Job Boss) for inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in estimating within manufacturing or metal forming environments.
- Experience in bonding processes, metal forming, and component-level work preferred
- Familiarity with Job Boss ERP for quoting and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, particularly inventory control.
- Ability to manage multiple quotes and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for direct customer interaction.
- Experience with steel and Nitinol materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot ERP-related issues and streamline quoting processes.
- Knowledge of similar products and processes for accurate load volume estimation.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
