The Paint Manager will work closely with management and customer service teams to ensure the scheduling and availability of resources align with production plans and customer orders. This role involves distributing production schedules and work orders, reviewing staffing and material needs, and directing logistics operations. The Paint Manager will provide leadership in material planning, production scheduling, and product shipment, applying expertise in capacity planning and supply/demand systems to standardize best practices.
Responsibilities
+ Distribute production schedules and work orders.
+ Review production schedules, work orders, staffing tables, and other documents to determine personnel and material requirements.
+ Direct all inbound and outbound logistics with detailed planning and routing.
+ Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to material planning, production scheduling, and product shipment.
+ Apply knowledge in capacity planning and supply/demand systems to drive disciplined systems and robust processes.
+ Develop and implement tools to evaluate inventory levels and recommend inventory control strategies.
+ Ensure efficient deployment and utilization of assets to meet demand.
+ Develop and implement capacity optimization tools for strategic sourcing and capacity planning.
+ Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts regarding material and capacity availability.
+ Consult with operations/plant managers, material suppliers, and workforce supervisors to secure materials and provide instructions.
+ Manage logistics personnel and systems to ensure product delivery meets customer requirements at the lowest company cost.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in manufacturing, paint application, and paint manufacturing.
+ Knowledge in raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
+ Proficiency in industrial paint/coating systems, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
+ Experience with painting and anodizing of aluminum extrusions.
+ Understanding of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road.
+ Engineering experience in a manufacturing/plant environment.
+ Skills in chemical and process safety management, process improvement, and lean manufacturing.
+ Management skills in logistics, laboratory, commercial painting, and industrial settings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BS degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
+ 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/plant environment.
+ 2+ years of experience overseeing industrial paint or coatings operations preferred.
+ Experience with contemporary scheduling and materials management, including MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Logistics, and Supply Chain design, is highly preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing environment, with time spent equally between the manufacturing floor and desk work, including chemical and wastewater treatment. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The industrial setting requires wearing boots, pants, and personal protective equipment such as hard hats and glasses. The work can be physically demanding, particularly in summer heat.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
