    Scientist II - Immunohistochemistry

    Overview:

    We are looking for a skilled Scientist II - Immunohistochemistry (IHC) to join our research team. In this role, you will perform routine single-plex and multiplex IHC to support drug discovery programs. You’ll contribute to projects involving target validation, animal model development, pharmacology, and exploratory safety studies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) using the Leica Bond Rx platform.

    + Support multiplex IHC workflows, including exposure to Lumiphores COMET technology.

    + Maintain accurate records in laboratory tracking systems (e.g., Sample Manager, Dream Path).

    + Collaborate with study pathologists and project teams to deliver high-quality results.

    + Follow established protocols and documentation requirements to ensure compliance.

    + Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects independently after training.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.

    + Hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry in a pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotech setting.

    + Working knowledge of Leica Bond Rx for IHC and ISH.

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + QIHC certification (preferred but not required).

    + Experience troubleshooting IHC protocols.

    + 3–5 years of experience in a histology or pathology laboratory.

    + Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Work Conditions:

    + Continuous standing for extended periods.

    + Routine work with chemicals in a laboratory setting.

    This is a Contract position based out of Worcester, MA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
